GO THE DISTANCE! for Families in Transition 
The Surf City Beach Derby and
Project Self-Sufficiency have teamed up for a fundraising event to help single parent families become self reliant.
GO THE DISTANCE! Derby runners and walkers and program supporters can raise funds to assist families in transition with a “hand up” to get back on their feet. Your support provides individual case management for PSS participants; education and training support; transportation and housing assistance; food, clothing and household living supplies; and linkages to community networks of support. This assistance allows highly motivated, low-income single parents attend school and gives them the opportunity to work toward permanent independence.
Runners raise funds from family, friends, neighbors and co-workers through November 1st, with all funds raised going directly to the Project Self Sufficiency Program.
